Community Profiles

Melvin came to Transition To Community after being released from Lancaster County Prison in January of this year. Melvin wanted to change his behavior but knew he needed help to make those changes. Melvin shared how Transition To Community is helping him at a most difficult time in his life. He mentioned several times how thankful he is to be part of TTC because he has been given a second chance. Melvin responded graciously, "Transition To Community is encouraging me while at the same time holding me accountable." He went on to say, "I am growing in my Christian faith and making better choices in life." Melvin is thankful for his case manager, Rosa, who has helped him locate employment, housing, and a variety of resources in the community. We asked Melvin where he sees himself in 6 months, he responded "I want to be with my family, working a full-time job and providing for them. I also want to continue my walk with The Lord, so I can be the best person I am meant to be." Melvin left us with these closing words, "Transition To Community will work with you if you want to change and encourage you while making the difficult transition from prison to the community and family."

"Transition To Community is encouraging me while at the same time holding me accountable."
